Yup. Once again some lousy thieves decided to try and rob my apartment. This time they got away with my Nintendo Wii, all of the controllers and 10 Wii Games. They found about 40 dvd movies they liked as well.

Oh, and they stole my Dymo labelwriter! How could they! :P

To sum it up:

  1. BACKUP your shit!
  2. Get a burglar alarm with motion activated sensors
  3. Take pictures of your apartment/house and store them with your (off site) backup
  4. Lock the inner doors in your apartment/house

Bastards.

I hate spam. And thats just via email. When it comes to my personal telephone number, Ill just go nuts if someone starts sending me SMS…and thats just what the danish club “Envy” started doing. One late evening I might have signed up for their sms service. How I wish I didnt have done that..

I tried cancelling my subscription on their website. No luck. Then I wrote them two emails. No luck. Then I called them, and the guy who answered promised to remove me. No luck!

Then two weeks passed. New sms received from Envy. I wrote Forbrugerstyrelsen (A national panel designed to help consumers fight evil companies), and told them about the illegal activities of Envy. Then I called Envy again, got hold of some other guy who also promised to remove me. No luck! And now they suddenly wont answer my calls any longer, strange huh?

I found out that this guy “Martin Nick” is behind these SMS. So i googled him and found out that he was involved in some affair where he didnt want to pay foreign workers what they should be paid for working here in Denmark. The plot thickens!

But as for now, they still suck. I just received a SMS with another OA (sender name) than the usual “Envy”. So now he is actually sending out SMS in the name of another club – NASA – another known danish club. This guy just wont stop…

As of January 15th, the harassing continues. I keep receiving sms. Latest one entitled “OLD VS NEW”. Apparently they are not stopping. And they are still arent picking up the phone.

Update 23/1:  Once again I have received ads for new parties at Envy. I got hold of some Michael from Envy, and once again they claimed to have nothing to do with these text messages, but they admit that they are giving out peoples numbers to their fellow promoters (and clubs?) without permission…which also is illegal. So now my number might be out in the jungle of club promoters in Denmark… way to go, Envy!

Pictures and videos from the awesome party are available here in the original video format (.mp4 and .jpg). Taken with a Nokia N95. While Im on the subject, I have a few things to add about this little event. The place where the concert was held couldnt have been any worse, I think. One this is that the entry gate as printed on the ticket, was to no use as people didnt respect that. Later, the stewards opened the gates for everybody. Another thing was all those badly tempered druggies, who one shouldnt even look at, before they would start to squeeze your neck ( I nearly tried it)!

Thirdly..the bar crew! Seriously people, 1½ hour of waiting for a coke (the drink!) and a hotdog? And yes, I did try to keep up with all the pushers (people pushing me, not druggies..at least I think!). And when I finally got to the friggin bardesk, they didnt accept coins. Allright, so I paid my dues and began to wait for my order to arrive… yet another 15 minutes spent waiting for the lemmings to bring me my dog. This dude comes up to me and wants to serve me 5 smirnoff ice, instead of actually reading my order. Well done. I wonder how and WHERE they found those “crew”-people!

Well, ’nuff said…here are the pictures. Feel free to comment on the experience if you were there!

Whoever developed bane.dk must have some pretty good reasons for their decisions. Take this example:

tog

Notice the remark in the first line. Whats that supposed to mean?

I also had a screenshot from bane.dk showing a train from “Aalborg” to “Fredericia” via “Odense”… if you know your geography, give that a little thought….

Well, it seems as if its not exactly an easy operation importing root certs to your windows mobile device. Some devices are locked from the manufacturer, having implemented some weird security policies that does not allow the end user to use the certificate import utility. Way to go! Also getting a certificate onto the device in a format that it understands can be a pain in the ..
So, apparently the easy way to avoid messing around with your certificates on your mobile device (and on your..Exchange 2007 server for instance), is to simply buy the damn thing.

InstantSSL.com sells the real deal for a mere ~$50 a year (when buying a cert valid for 3 years) – apparently they are recognized on devices starting from Windows Mobile 2003 (and 2003 SE), and upwards. But be aware: Windows Mobile does not support wildcard certificates, so you need to buy multiple certs for your Exchange 2007 installation – eg. autodiscover.domain.com and mail.domain.com.

“A paper published last week in Current Biology reports that chimpanzee females grow .”

Fantastic. Who could foresee this amazing discovery.

There is, apparently, also a Demon of Excessive Foot Odor which you can cast out”

Cast out? Say what?

I have also received several “Parrot Charts”.. im unable to quote them here though; its just too weird.

A much more fun and inviting title were “Banana gestures for you!”.

It states: “There were parades and brass bands.” Sounds like so much fun.

Spam is definitely getting weirder and weirder…
